Metal clusters with chalcogen Ligands
N,S-containing ligands such as thioureas and thioamides react with copper(I) or silver(I) salts to form tetranuclear metal clusters. We are investigating (both experimentally and with computational methods) the factors affecting cluster formation and the origin of the intense luminescence of these compounds.
